A B Charitable Trust Grant
If you think your charity meets our criteria, you can fill in our application form online. You may find it helpful to look at the questions you will be asked, before starting the online application process. To do this download the list of questions and notes (2-page PDF file, 23K).
As well as administrative and financial details from your latest accounts (see below), the online application form will ask for an overview of your work / proposal in a maximum of 1,200 words (up to two sides of A4, point size 12, minimum formatting and no pictures). This should include, for example, your background, aims and objectives, activities and achievements.
If your proposal is for a specific project (by invitation from ABCT) you may exceed the 1,200 words or two page maximum for your proposal.
This overview / proposal should be in Microsoft Word, and you will be asked to submit it electronically as part of the online application.
When you are ready to start the application process, click on this link, You will be asked some questions about your eligibility first, and then passed on to the application form.
After you have applied
After filling in the online application form you will be sent an application reference number. Please send the Director (for the address, see our Contact page) the following supporting paper documents, quoting the application reference number:
- the overview of your organisation's work / proposal referred to above
- a signed copy of your latest certified accounts / statements, with a reporting date that is no more than 12 months prior to the application deadline you have chosen (see below)
- Your latest management accounts and the projected surplus/deficit for the current financial year
- up to two items of publicity material that illustrate the work of your charity, such as annual reviews or leaflets.
The Trustees meet four times a year, in January, April, July and October. The date of your application should be dictated by the reporting date of your certified accounts / statements, which must be no more than 12 months prior to the application deadline. If your accounts are outside these parameters your application will be ineligible.
The deadlines for Trustee meetings in 2017/18 are as follows:
