BBC Children in Need main grants programme now open
BBC Children in Need has opened its main grants programme to non-profits and charities, with grants of over £10,000 available for charities for up to three years. The grants are designed to help disadvantaged children aged under 18, such as those who have experienced illness, neglect, abuse, disability or poverty.
Whilst there is no upper limit to grant value, most grants awarded tend to be below £40,000 per year.
The criteria for grants is specific, with those ineligible including religious-based organisations, local government or NHS bodies, and projects involving trips abroad, awareness raising or political lobbying. Please check the A to Z guidance for applicants (available via BBC Children in Need) and make sure you meet the grantmaking standards before you start your application. You'll find full information here.
Applications close at 11:59pm on 13 January 2019, with decisions announced in June 2019; a further round of applications will then be open until 11:59pm on 19 May 2019, with decisions announced in October 2019.
