Voscur is currently looking for enthusiastic, talented individuals to become Voscur Advocates.

Voscur Advocates play a key role in the city, ensuring that the voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) sector is involved in strategic and operational decision making on a broad range of issues. They do this by getting involved in key strategic partnerships, boards and forums, working with representatives across a range of sectors whilst advocating on sector issues and contributing from a sector perspective. We are passionate about promoting the diversity of the sector, and to make sure that it is represented at a strategic level, we have negotiated and secured additional places on boards and groups so that we can build on multi-agency, cross sector partnership working in the city.

Voscur Advocate roles are voluntary – they are elected by the VCSE sector, based on the specific expertise and experience that they would bring to the role. So if you are looking to develop your professional skills, gain some valuable experience of working strategically in the city and give added support to the sector then we want to hear from you!

Fiona Castle, a Voscur Advocate on the Children and Families Partnership Board, along with Dom Wood from 1625 Independent People, says: "Working for Imayla CIC and with a background in both statutory and voluntary sectors, I hoped I could support development at a policy and service delivery level on behalf of the sector. I believe in the value of an informed and trained sector with a collective voice and have benefited from Voscur’s support."

We currently have vacancies for Voscur Advocates on the  following strategic boards and groups:

The deadline for nominations has been extended  and  is now 5pm, Wednesday 8 November 2017.
