Cold Weather Fund for organisations helping homeless people

28 October, 2019

The Cold Weather Fund from Homeless link will distribute £1 million to charities or CICs not commissioned by local authorities, to support homeless people.

Rough sleeping is a particular concern in winter time, and the funding aims to cut the number of rough sleepers on the streets by helping them find short-term and long-term accommodation.

Grants of up to £25,000 will fund work with either one or both of these aims:

  • Reduce rough sleeping by offering extra accommodation (on top of any local authority provision in your area), such as shelter beds.
  • Enhance the support given to rough sleepers to encourage moves away from street sleeping and shelters into long-term accommodation.

The overall goal should be to provide long-term support and solutions to the homeless. Priority will be given to charities and CICs working with particularly vulnerable groups, such as couples, the LGBT community, pet owners, and vulnerable women.

Though your organisation must not be commissioned by the local authority, you will need a supporting letter or email from them to include in your bid.

Applications close on Friday 6 December 2019. To find out more and to apply, click here
