Funding for young people who have experienced care

12 November, 2018

Aspirational Awards aim to support care experienced young people aged 21-26 to think big about the future and allow them to apply for funding which will support personal development, achieve  potential and reach as high as possible in life.

What do we mean by ‘aspirational’?

We understand that aspiration can mean different things to different people and that everyone has their own aspirations.

However, we believe that an aspirational idea must be based on these principles:

·         An aspiration is a long-term goal

·         An aspiration will have a long-term impact on your life

This could be something that the applicant has been working towards over a long period of time (and would have proof of doing so).

Who can apply?

This funding is open to young people aged 21-26 with at least three months of care experience.

What is care experience?

People who have experience in any of the following types of care:

·         looked after at home (e.g. supervision order)

·         foster care

·         residential care

·         secure care

·         looked after through Kinship care (by other family/friends)

Applications close at midnight on Sunday 9 December 2018. Click here for full details.
