Up to £4,000 is available from the Megawatt Community Energy Fund, for projects supporting green energy or raising awareness of climate change. The fund is supplied by profits from Bristol Energy Cooperative and Low Carbon Gordano, and the grant programme is delivered by Quartet Community Foundation.

Grants are open to groups or projects working in Bristol, North Somerset, Sedgemoor District (Somerset) and South Gloucestershire. You do not have to be an energy or environmental group.

Examples of eligible projects include:

  • Workshops, talks, arts events or sports activities raising awareness of climate change and how we can reduce its impact.
  • Campaigns to encourage sustainable transport, local food growing, horticulture and healthy eating.
  • Community sharing and networking, such as lift-sharing and using social media to spread awareness.
  • Reducing fuel poverty by helping people on low incomes to switch energy providers, access grants and reduce their energy bills.

Applications close at 11am on Monday 10 April 2019. Click here for full details and guidelines.
