Have your say on the future of Bristol’s Equalities Voice and Influence services
Bristol City Council (BCC) has allocated £392,000 of the Bristol Impact Fund to tackle inequality and disadvantage in the city. The money will be spent over three years to further the empowerment and strengthen the voices of equalities communities.
This voice and influence work is currently being carried out by separate forums*, however BCC now wishes to fund a single service that will address the needs of people from all the communities of interest, with the additional focus of tackling the intersectional effects of poverty and disadvantage.
The successful bidder must work across the city, using a joined-up approach to the complex, multi-layered needs of people with protected characteristics. It must also commit to becoming more financially independent due to the effect of shrinking budgets.
Have your say
Before tendering begins, BCC wants citizens to share their ideas about how this service could work most effectively to amplify voices and reduce disadvantage in these communities. You can take part in the survey, which closes on Monday 25 September 2017. The results and feedback are expected to be available in November.
