National Lottery Government grants for organisations that can't accept lottery funds

28 May, 2020

Under normal circumstances there are many community organisations that don't apply for National Lottery grants, as the money given away is raised from gambling. However, the National Lottery Community Fund is responsible for distributing the government's Coronavirus Community Response Fund - an important source of emergency funding during the pandemic for small to medium organisations, with £200m available.

In recognition of the barrier this raises to such organisations benefitting from the government funding for COVID-19 actions, the National Lottery Community Fund has made a commitment to ensure any grants to such organisations are only paid from the government's part of the joint funding pot.

If your organisation is providing support during the emergency, or experiencing problems keeping going, there's no reason why you need to miss out.
