Voscur introduces Sandra Meadows as Interim CEO

12 July, 2017

Sandra Meadows, Voscur’s new Interim Chief Executive, is a committed advocate for both the sector and the city which has been her home for the past 28 years.

Her background covers a variety of roles within the Bristol Corporate, Private and VCSE sectors including Marketing, HR, Business Development and Senior Management. In addition, Sandra is a member of the Bristol Mayoral Commission for Women and has also served as a Voluntary Sector Advocate for Voscur, Chief Executive of PEYTU, a Governor within both Secondary and Further Education and has worked extensively in partnership with Bristol City Council. A member of The Chartered Institute of Management and an Associate with the Centre for Mentoring and Coaching, Sandra also launched her own consultancy in 2015 covering business and leadership coaching.

Sandra says, “my move into the Bristol VCSE Sector some 20 years ago was fuelled by my desire to help address challenges within our city, through my day to day work. Since then I have devoted both personal and professional time to working with and supporting a wide range of people and organisations. I believe that our VCSE Sector is one of the best and delivers outstanding work that impacts positively on the lives of individuals, families, communities and the city as a whole.

"That said, the current economic climate is extremely challenging so creativity, collaboration and cohesion are all key to us moving forward successfully. If we are to sustain the important work we all do in addressing inequality, supporting the most vulnerable and reaching those who are disadvantaged and marginlised we have to find new ways of working.

"Ensuring that Voscur is well placed to strengthen and support members, the wider sector and the city will be my focus and I am deeply honoured to have been given the opportunity to lead Voscur through the next phase of its journey. I very much look forward to speaking with a wide range of individuals, groups and organisations along the way as I work to develop both the VCSE Strategy for Bristol and a new business plan for Voscur.”
