Voscur offers IAG collaboration support following funding consultation
Voscur is reminding VCS organisations that provide Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) services that it can support them with partnership and collaboration support.
This follows the launch of a Bristol City Council consultation on commissioning and funding models for IAG services, which include advice on benefits, employment and debt.
In its draft grant funding plan the council says that IAG organisations will be asked to work with other providers to influence or join up with any emerging ‘whole system’ for services. Maximising coordinated, collaborative working is also listed as a funding driver.
“The council wants stronger collaboration amongst service providers,” said Mark Hubbard, Voscur’s Head of Partnerships and Commissioning.
“This consultation asks about the pros and cons of several models. Voscur regularly supports such collaborations – organisations that are interested should contact us to discuss how we can help.”
The council’s draft funding plan is based on the findings of the Low Commission. The plan outlines three possible funding models and the council has already stated that its preferred option is to have a consortium of four separate funding agreements.
This would require greater negotiation between coordinator organisations and other providers. The risk for the council is that lead providers and grant holders would be awarded funding by the council and would have to work collaboratively whether there was an established relationship or not.
The consultation will be open until 9 August 2018 and can be found here.
The council will be holding two consultation events at City Hall:
