Bringing your board and community with you

Is your board comfortable with the risks of managing assets and loans as well as the opportunities for earning income? Are your community stakeholders happy to pay for some of your services and for you to generate a surplus from local assets?

Ensuring both your board and local people buy into long-term plans - with their hearts, minds and wallets - is crucial to establishing your organisation's sustainability.

A business plan that people want to buy into

Is your business plan inward-looking or outward-focused? Does it explain what you do internally so it's clear to the team, or the impact you create in the community so it's clear to investors and funders? (Or both?)

Is it ambitious but not unrealistic? Is it practical but not pedestrian?

This session will focus on what an investable business plan really looks like.
