Bristol has built a cultural reputation - bursting at the seams with innovative creative institutions and globally recognised art practice. There is strong support for its more established cultural sector but what of the thriving grassroots activity in different parts of the city and the benefit it plays in the health and wellbeing of people's lives. How do we better value and recognise these types of cultural interactions, ensuring inclusivity and accessibility? How do we amplify and embed the voluntary community sector into future cultural agenda?

The Volunteer Organisers' Forum is used to promote and share best practice for those managing or coordinating volunteers.  We meet quarterly to discuss a variety of issues relevant to volunteering such as volunteer recruitment, employability, DBS checks, volunteer retention, thank you events, welfare reform impacts, volunteers and the law amongst others.  Featuring speakers and mini workshops, this forum is also a great opportunity to network.

The VCS Grants Prospectus is a new fund of up to £5m per year focussed on reducing disadvantage and inequality, and increased ability to self-manage and cope. At the event participants will be able to choose from a range of training workshops to help their organisations get ready for applying.
