BS3 are looking for new board members

BS3 are looking for people to bring their life experience and skills to help make the charity even more welcoming and accessible to people living and working in the BS3 postcode area of Bristol.

“Our current board members are outstanding but have acknowledged the need to diversify the board. We want to hear fresh, new voices and ideas to keep the charity vibrant and meaningful to all the different communities in our area”.

If you become a trustee, what does it involve?

Trustees have overall control of a charity and are responsible for making sure it does what it was set up to do. You will provide advice to the management team, bring new ideas and insight, and ensure that as a charity BS3 is achieving its aims. Trustees meet four times a year as a board and in addition take part in project working groups alongside members of the management team.

Support your local community and improve your own well-being

Sitting as a trustee of a charity is a generous thing to do; it is a voluntary role so there is no financial reward. There are however lots of benefits to becoming a trustee. The “Taken on Trust” research project found that:

73% of trustees say sitting on a charitable board has boosted their confidence.

84% said being a trustee made them happier.

96% of trustees say they have learnt new skills, with 22% gaining a promotion because of it!
