Support assistant (accommodation based)
Hours: 37 hours per week
Contract Type: Fixed Term Contract (until February 2022)
Salary £17,143- £18,732 per annum
Our High Support accommodation service provides support to people with a range of complex needs including homelessness, drug and alcohol misuse, re-offending and mental health issues, who require support to progress towards more independent living.
The service operates a rota to provide extended support beyond standard hrs of 9am-5pm Mon-Fri, and requires staff to provide cover 24 hours a day.
You will be responsible for supporting clients to develop their own support plans and assisting them to meet their own identified goals and aims and ensuring they are able to work safely with your service and other agencies in the community for the benefit of their recovery and progression.
You will have experience and understanding of working with vulnerable people in either a voluntary or paid capacity. Knowledge of the care and support needs of people with mental health needs is essential. Just as important is your ability to work as part of a team with your support and housing colleagues.
We take a psychological adversity and trauma informed approach (PAT) and work in a psychologically informed way (PIE). You will receive comprehensive training, regular supervision and be part of team reflective practice.
