South West Museum Development is seeking members for its Strategic Advisory Group.
South West Museum Development is passionate about museums and believes in their value to make a difference to communities and in people’s everyday lives. As a National Portfolio Sector Support Organisation we provide trusted, locally relevant support and help museums develop, innovate and collaborate. We are an established programme, looking ahead to its future beyond the current funding cycle, and are seeking new members who want to shape the future of the programme and that of the over 210 Accredited museums in the south west.
We are seeking members who share our passion and can help develop our profile, impact and financial resilience. We particularly welcome applications from skilled professionals with expert knowledge and standing in their field in the following areas:
Members are expected to serve a minimum of two years. We particularly welcome applicants from outside the museum sector in areas such as higher education, the media, the commercial and voluntary sectors alongside those from the museum and wider cultural sector.

Remuneration: These posts are not remunerated but an annual stipend of £350 for travel is available.
