Details of Role: 

BS3 Community Development is a well-established community anchor organisation in south Bristol - our mission is to improve the health, well being & happiness of the people in the BS3 postcode area of south Bristol.

We are strengthening our team with the addition of a Finance Clerk role to support our Finance and Operations teams.

HOURS: 37.5 hours per week (work pattern to be agreed)

RATE OF PAY: £18,926.82 per year (£9.68 per hour)

REPORTS TO: Head of Finance and Operations

CLOSING DATE: Monday the 25th of October

INTERVIEWS: Tuesday the 2nd of November

START DATE: November 2021

Main purpose of job

As a member of the finance team, to undertake day to day administration needs of the finance department in support of financial procedures. Build relationships with customers and clients. Provide administrative support to the finance department and contribute to the improvement and development of financial systems & procedures

Key Responsibilities

Data inputting receipts and payments

Monitor customer query inbox

Data input and reconciling debtor and creditor accounts

Reconcile bank accounts

Credit control and debtor management

Prepare statements for customers showing charges and payments

Assist with cash banking and/or petty cash

Support the refund processes for customer retainers (deposits) and the generation of new retainer invoices.

Maintain records of new customers (collecting government tax free codes and updating QuickBooks with contact details).

Comply with relevant professional standards and audit requirements.

Maintain high levels accuracy and confidentiality at all times; to support other team members.

Other ad-hoc finance & administrative duties as required

Essential Skills

High levels of accuracy and an eye for detail

Experience working with numbers or as a bookkeeper

Computer literacy and experience of using Microsoft Office, specifically Excel

Experience and knowledge of computerised accounting systems

Desirable Skills

Payroll experience

Understanding or experience in charity book-keeping

Experience of QuickBooks
