Details of Role: 

Do you have experience delivering business studies and/or employability and are you passionate about supporting young people to prepare for the world of work? New to our curriculum, we have an exciting vacancy for someone who has the knowledge, skills and aptitude to lead on developing and delivering this important area of our curriculum.

You will need to have a passion for raising attainment and will have the commitment and drive to change outcomes for children and young people who are likely to have experienced multiple and complex disadvantage, deprivation and trauma.

You could make a difference by helping a young person unlock a brighter future, through your creativity, resilience and as a passionate educator you will be committed to improving the life chances for vulnerable young people.  

You will design and implement an engaging and relevant subject curriculum including schemes of work

You will plan and deliver effective and appropriate lessons to up to 24 children and young people in groups of 2-4 within the secure Home environment

You will be responsible for assessment, monitoring, recording and reporting on the learning needs, progress and achievements of assigned pupils.  Where relevant you will ensure that pupils work is marked and up to date with clear feedback to support progress.

You will build effective and positive relationships with children and young people, many whom have experienced complex trauma, and may demonstrate problematic and/or extreme behaviours.

Contribute to developing social skills, raising self-esteem and encouraging the personal progress of all pupils in all activities.

Provide support to the wider network of professionals to meet their statutory responsibilities ensuring that educational and holistic needs of children are met

As part of the Education Team you will work proactively and in line with the Home’s behaviour management policy to promote positive behaviour and deploy effective strategies to minimise disruptive and unwanted behaviour

You will promote the safety and well-being of pupils, adhering to all safety, security, safeguarding and related policies and procedures.

You will provide the Head teacher or Deputy Head Teacher with appropriate feedback and reports on achievement, progress and development, you will be required to contribute to documentation such as behaviour management records and young persons’ daily logs.
