Details of Role: 

Join OTR’s Freedom Youth and Bristol Hate Crime and Discrimination Services as a Youth LGBTQ+ Caseworker to work to support LGBTQ+ young people who have been targets of hate and discrimination. The role will also play an important role in raising awareness of homophobia, biphobia and transphobia within the city working with partner organisations through events and workshops. 

The role will work within the city to increase LGBTQ+ hate crime reporting alongside delivering direct support. The postholder will be working as a 1:1 caseworker, working with targets of hate and discrimination to ensure young people have access to reporting and support for incidents of hate and/or discrimination. 

Based within OTR and working alongside key partners Stand against Racism, Brandon Trust, Bristol Mind, Avon and Bristol Law Centre and Resolve West, this role focusses on providing support to LGBTQ+ targets of hate crime and discrimination aged under 25, working in collaboration with SARI who are undertaking work with LGBTQ+ people 25 and up. 

Bristol Hate Crime and Discrimination Services is a partnership of organisations working closely together to support targets of all types of hate and discrimination across Bristol.
