The volunteer will have knowledge of and experience in searching for and writing bids for funding. This is the core role and something we would like them to be able to start as soon as they do. The volunteer will work with the Project Manager and the Admin Co-ordinator. They can work from home or come into the office. Any other skills they feel would help can be discussed further.
Before lockdown we would run our arts for wellness-based workshops and drop-ins. This provided some revenue as we struggled to search for / write bids which is not our expertise, whilst trying to find volunteers who did. All this came to an end as covid hit. We could not provide any courses and when things opened, due to the nature of our building we could not get enough people in to make it financially viable.
The decision was made to offer free workshops in schools and community organisations whilst using the funds from a property sale to keep charity going. Funding will provide the charity with money to pay the bills and salaries until we can build up the workshops again, and at a later stage move to a premises big enough to provide workshops for more people. This will ensure the charity survives and can provide free workshops to those who need it.
