Vocalise is a community magazine based in Ashley Ward Bristol. We publish a quarterly magazine written by and for the local residents, with the aim of bringing together community and celebrating the diversity and achievements of local residents.

Job description
Project Assistant (Admin)
Part-time 5 - 10 hours a week

Desired skills:
You would be directly managed and supported by the managing director, Julia as well as our founder and director, Vandna. With time, you will have an option to take on additional tasks such as magazine design, managing volunteers and interns inc. recruiting, assigning tasks and liaising with the university as well as organising fundraising events. Ultimately, depending on your skills and abilities, there will be an option to progress to a project coordinator by taking a full responsibility for the company as well as magazine’s design, release, and distribution.
About Vocalise Bristol CIC:
Vocalise Bristol CIC produces a quarterly community magazine, celebrating the diversity and creativity of Ashley Ward (Montpelier, St Pauls and St Werburghs, St Agnes). The magazine is delivered to businesses and community hubs across Ashley, providing a platform for local residents, charities, artists, schools and business owners. We sell advertising space within the magazine to only local organisations, charities and businesses and are currently funded by Bristol City Council.
Vocalise Bristol CIC runs a website, with news, a local business directory and creative articles, alongside Twitter and Facebook channels promoting local news and opportunities. We have also run workshops in collaboration with other local organisations, offering training in all aspects of media and journalism. We also organise local events and engage regularly with other community groups and leaders. There are three active Directors, we have quarterly planning meetings as well as monthly informal catch-up meetings.
Salary: £9.50 per hour
