Unseen is a charity based in Bristol, providing support across the South-West for people who have been identified as potential victims of human trafficking and modern slavery.

As our team is expanding, we are currently recruiting a full-time Accommodation Support Officer (ASO) to work at one of Unseen’s safe houses; these are accommodation services for men and women who have been identified as victims of human trafficking and modern slavery. At other organisations this role may be known as Safehouse Support Worker.

The ASO role is to ensure all health and safety requirements in the safe house are met on a day to day basis and that all house protocols and policies are adhered to. ASOs will also ensure the safety and security of service users by welcoming and settling new residents, promoting awareness of health and safety, helping clients to manage risk and supporting survivors to engage with support plans and work towards their goals. ASOs will work to create a friendly and supportive environment for residents with opportunities to instigate communal activities with residents.

You will be working as a part of Unseen’s friendly and committed Support Services Team that provides high quality support services to clients living both in safe house accommodation and in the community. You will work closely with the case working team and be supported by management. Full and on-going training, supervision and external supervision will be provided.

ASO shifts are 11am – 9pm with an unpaid 30 minute break (9.5 hours paid). This role will be working 3 or 4 shifts per week (totalling 7 shifts over a 2-week rolling rota). Shift patterns will be planned in advance and will involve both weekday and weekend work, shifts will be scheduled across a rolling rota and we endeavour to provide a fair balance of weekend work across the team where possible.
