We are looking for an experienced individual to join the Board as Chair, familiarising themselves with the CIC, shadowing our current Chair and taking over the role of Chairperson by February 2023.  We are also looking for other interested and experienced people with a range of skills to join the Board as Directors.

The key role of A.P.E. Project CIC is delivering young people-centred play opportunities at St Pauls Adventure Playground in Bristol, one of the UK’s largest adventure playgrounds and an important and respected space for the multi-cultural local community.

The Chair will hold the Board of Directors and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to account for the CIC’s mission and vision, providing inclusive leadership to the Board, leading members of the board in fulfilling their duties and responsibilities for the effective governance of the CIC.  The Directors will support the Chair in fulfilling the mission and aims of the organisation and will bring their professional expertise and personal skills to the role.

The Chair will also support the CEO and ensure that the Board functions well to achieve agreed objectives. He or she will act as an ambassador and the public face of the CIC in partnership with the CEO. It is a broad, varied, challenging and rewarding role, requiring a pro-active and diplomatic approach.
