Merchandise and Sales Assistant

We're looking for someone with the passion to support driving sales and awareness of the Bristol Students Union retail outlets, instore, online and on social channels. You will be responsible for supervising the day-to-day operations of our retail outlet in the Richmond Building and involved in relevant event planning and campaigns. You will balance the needs of achieving sales targets and delivering excellent customer service to our students and staff. The role will be a support to the Merchandise Senior Coordinator who has overall responsibility for the smooth and profitable operation of our retail outlets.

What will you bring?

  • You’ll have experience in retail or sales
  • Excellent organisational and planning skills
  • Good attention to detail
  • You’ll be able to provide excellent customer service to our customers and support our Senior Merchandise Co-Ordinator in all aspects of the daily running the physical and online shop, and at key merchandise events i.e. Welcome and Graduation
  • Essential skills: excellent verbal and written communication skills, good numerical skills, ability to organise your workplace, excellent prioritising and time management skills, ability to work in a very busy environment, attention to detail, punctuality and reliability, ability to work on your own initiative and as a member of a team.
  • Desirable skills: a good eye for product display, initiative, a good work ethic.
