We have a unique opportunity for a Project Manager with experience of developing heritage activity plans to lead and manage our Kingsley Hall Heritage Project, a once-in-lifetime project made possible with funding from The National Lottery Heritage Fund (NLHF).

Thanks to National Lottery players, our new Heritage Project Manager will develop our plans to use heritage as a platform to transform young people’s lives and to develop Kingsley Hall - our charity’s base and Grade 2* listed building – as a welcoming place to support young people who are homeless, leaving care or at risk of homelessness. 
This project is an amazing chance to engage young people in every aspect of the project and to develop and submit an outstanding, high-quality Activity Plan and Round 2 application to NLHF.

Who we are: 
We are a leading youth homelessness charity based in the Southwest, working with over 1,500 young people. What you will be doing:

  • By being well organised, effective, and enthusiastic you will take ownership of the Heritage Project. You will lead colleagues, volunteers, consultants and partners to deliver a high-quality development programme.
  • You will work collaboratively with external consultants including the design team, interpretation and business planning consultants and the project manager overseeing the building works. 
  • Using your creative approach and participatory skills, and passion for developing young people’ skills, you will establish a high-quality Development Phase NLHF Activity Plan.
  • Using your excellent communication skills, you’ll create outstanding partnerships with external organisations, delivering new opportunities for young people.
  • Your motivation to ensure young people’s active involvement in heritage will shine through your flexible and creative approach to project work.
  • Using your problem-solving skills, you’ll resolve any issues ensuring specialist consultants deliver the agreed programmes of work with the active involvement of young people, within budget and to agreed timescales.
  • Your great attention to detail will mean all records and reports are accurate, timely and in accordance with the requirements of NLHF and other funders.

You will be in our Partnerships, Funding and Communications Team and your line manager will be our Partnerships Director.

Contract details: 

  • Hours per week: 22.5 (0.6 FTE)
  • Contract type: Fixed term initially until September 2024 
  • Pay: £40,478 - £43,516 per annum (pro-rata)
  • The location: Your base will be our Kingsley Hall office, close to Bristol’s main train and bus stations as well as the vibrant Bristol city centre. There is also flexibility and support to manage working from home.
