At Bluebell we recognise that every parent, partner & infant deserves equal access to perinatal mental health support services. We are committed to building a culture of diversity and inclusion within our organisation, and are working towards embedding this into everything we do, and all the services we offer.

Aim of role:  

The aim of this role will be to ensure that our services will become more inclusive to all parents, partners and infants who need them, particularly those who experience more barriers in accessing perinatal mental health services, including Black parents, their partners and infants and those from other minoritised ethnic communities, those who face disadvantages and barriers due to poverty, age, gender or sexuality, those from LGBTQIA+.  communities including non-birthing partners, disabled parents, their partners & infants, including those with unseen disabilities and those with neuro diversity. 

Our main focus is to create partnerships with other organisations and create links to improve and embed our service within the minoritized communities. 

About you:  

Alongside your passion, you will bring some professional or personal experience of championing equality, diversity and inclusion. In addition,  you will be able to demonstrate a range of the following skills and experience:  

A commitment to championing equality, diversity and inclusion. 

 ·       Ability to hold intercultural and sensitive conversations. 

Experience of working within a health, mental health or related organisation, however other transferable professional and/or personal experience is also welcomed 

Experience of engaging with under-represented groups and an understanding of different community engagement approaches.  

Have previous experience in an organisation where inclusion has been embedded in the fabric of the organisation, and able to show relevant work that led to improved outcomes.  

Experience of building relationships with a wide range of stakeholders & decision makers, at all levels of organisations and from a range of backgrounds. 

A good understanding of perinatal mental health – either through personal or professional experience. 

Flexibility to work within a team.  

Ability to listen, reflect,  challenge and develop ideas & projects 

Experience of working alongside other agencies, health professionals and other professional bodies.  

Strong communication and influencing skills, including report writing, copywriting for websites, marketing materials and social media, confidence to delivering presentations and host meetings if required. 

To be a connector, networker and build relationships.  

Ability to plan and organise own work, working to multiple deadlines and managing own time. 

IT skills including ability to use office products, email and willingness to learn new IT skills, such as our database.
