Summer Heritage Volunteering at the SS Great Britain – July & August 2023

Join the SS Great Britain crew this summer as one of our seasonal Heritage volunteers.

What’s involved?

• Supporting visitors to make sure they get the most out of their day.
• Encouraging visitors to get hands on scrubbing the deck or dressing up in Victorian costume.
• Engaging visitors with the fascinating stories of this historic passenger ship and her crew.

What do we need from you?

• Enthusiasm
• Good communication and customer service skills
• Online application form completed (please ask if you need support with this)
• 2 references
• Able to commit to 2 shifts a week during July and August (shifts are 3 hours, plus a 15minute briefing)

Key dates:

• General site induction: 22 June, 9.30 – 1.00
• Essential role specific induction: either 28 & 29 June or 12 & 13 July (9.45 – 4.00)
• You must be able to come along to either of these dates to take part. You will be ready to start volunteering on successful completion of this 2day induction.
• 6 September, 2pm – end of the season social
