Details of Role: 

We are seeking a Project Manager who can lead on overseeing BMT’s input to the completion of the snagging period of the refurbishment project.  The role reports to the Chief Operating officer and must be mainly located on site.  The tasks will include

 

  • Leading the weekly works meeting with the contractor Willmott Dixon (WD) to agree the specific works to be undertaken that week and the 3 week forward view.
  • Working with appropriate BMT staff to interrogate the events management system Artifax in order to update and agree the weekly availability schedule issued to WD.
  • Owning and keeping up to date the BMT Issues list by capturing all relevant issues raised by BMT team members.
  • Monitoring and agreeing progress of Issues with Arcadis PMO (weekly).
  • Owning and keeping up to date the BMT Change Action Order Tracker and issuing new Change Action Orders on instruction from the COO.
  • Monitoring and agreeing progress of CAOs with Arcadis PMO (weekly).
  • Owning and keeping up to date the BMT Maintenance Issues list by capturing all relevant issues raised by BMT team members.
  • Monitoring and agreeing progress of Issues with TClarke (weekly).
  • First point of contact for Contractor to raise or resolve issues.
  • Oversee and attend weekly External Works meeting with Contractor.
  • Work closely with BMT Facilities Manager, Deputy Facilities Manager, Production and Events Manager, Technical Manager and COO to facilitate the contractors completion work taking place in the building around the daily events and shows being held.  Target completion of works is 31 Dec 2024.
  • Reporting regularly back to the COO on progress and issues that need further intervention.

  • Ability to anticipate and adjust to a moving situation 
  • Building relations based on trust and accuracy 
  • Strong IT skills in excel and scheduling 
  • Ability to organise, manage and  inform both external contractors and internal staff  and being able to “hold the ring “
  • Ability to analyse and assess data and interpret into action plans 

 

Timescale and Payment

We expect this role to be needed 3 days per week on-site at Bristol Beacon  to start as soon as possible until 31 December 2024.

This will be on a freelance day-rate basis (7.5 hours per day and including travel and all expenses).
