We are a charity providing free English language support to refugee and migrant children in Bristol and Oxford. Joining Jacari as a volunteer tutor is an exciting opportunity for you to support children learning English as an additional language. 

By becoming a tutor, you will:

• Be matched to a pupil to provide fun and engaging educational support for 1 hour a week
• Build a meaningful relationship with a pupil ​
• Develop valuable communication and teaching skills​
• Help tackle educational inequalities 
• Join a local and supportive community

Who can volunteer?

We look for volunteers who:

• Are motivated by promoting the educational attainment, confidence and self-esteem of children and young people
• Have a confident standard of written and spoken English – if English is not your first language, we ask that you have an IELTS score of 7.5 or above 
• Are friendly and interested in learning about different cultures
