Now is an exciting time to join Bricks board and lead us through into the next stage of our work, now in our sixth year as a charity, and our fourth year at St Annes House we are gearing up for a phase of consolidation, long term thinking and capital building works.
We welcome all applications, and if you think this is not for you, still apply as we are always interested to hear from people that want to support our work and communities.
Our ideal candidate would bring experience of one or more of the following:
- Director or Head of Finance in a Charity
- Charity auditing
- Chartered accountancy
- Experience of a large scale capital project, including housing.
TREASURER ROLE
Bricks board’s role is to shape and set the strategic direction of the organisation, agreeing the vision and key objective in partnership with the CEO. This includes oversight of two current areas of work St Annes House and Bricks Public Art Agency.
The full board meets six times a year, generally 6pm on a weeknight and lasting no more than two hours, with the option to join online or at St Annes House.
There are subcommittees for:
Finance and Fundraising (three times a year)
Capital project (six times a year)
Fundraising and Income (six times a year)
H&S and Operations (twice a year)
Public Art (twice a year)
The treasurer role, has a specific responsibilities on top of the general trustee role, this includes:
- Chairing the Finance and Risk Subcommittee
- Supporting CEO and Head of Finance on a strategic and ad hoc basis
We appreciate that trustees live busy lives and will work with you to find a balance that works for all and make sure it's within the capacity you want to give.

Current Treasurer James Flintoff will be stepping down from the board in November 2024.

Bricks is a charitable incorporated organisation registered with the Charity Commission (Charity number 1183118).
We have a limited company Bricks Trading Limited (Company Number 12359038) which delivers public art consultancy and the trading side of St Annes House.
