Baby Bank Network Bristol was founded in 2015 by three Bristol mums who wanted to help local families struggling to provide the basics a young child needs to be happy and healthy. Earlier this year we supported our 10,000^th family in Bristol after seeing demand for our services grow year on year, leading to expansion of our own staff and volunteer numbers.  Our current chair's term ends in April 2025 and we are looking for a someone who shares our drive and passion to make a difference to Bristol families, despite the fundraising challenges facing the charities sector.

We aim to promote sustainable living by reducing the volume of items (clothes, toys, equipment, furniture) disposed of and upcycling goods that still have plenty of life left.  Our core service has been developed over the last nine years and works on a referral basis and we have built strong relationships with organisations and networks across Bristol including staff from children’s centres, Health Visitors, midwives and other charities.

Our ambition to make a difference to struggling families, led the Baby Bank Network to be a founding member of the national Baby Bank Alliance (launched July 2024). The Alliance’s purpose is to ensure that all baby banks across the UK can access the funding, goods, volunteers and practical support they need, to be the most effective they can be. 

You do not need to have charities experience to apply for this role, and we welcome applicants who think their life and/ or professional experience has given them the skills and attributes to lead the group of trustees and meet our goals.
