Mentors from Bristol University needed for young people (10-17 years)

Contract Type:
Part Time
2 hrs per month
Details of Role:

IntoUniversity is an award winning education charity which provides local learning centres where students from disadvantaged backgrounds are inspired to achieve. Young people from the UK’s poorest backgrounds tend to do less well at school and are far less likely to go to university. IntoUniversity provides long term academic support, motivation and encouragement to give young people a fair chance of realising their full potential.

We are looking for enthusiastic and committed volunteers who are currently studying at the University of Bristol to support our students at our two learning centres in Bristol in the role of Mentor.

As an IntoUniversity Mentor, you would be paired up with a young person aged 10 - 17 yrs. As a Mentoring pair, you would meet once a fortnight at one of the two IntoUniversity Bristol centres and focus on a mixture of academic, social and future-focused activities. There will also be the opportunity to go on trips, attend group mentoring events, and take part in the Mentoring graduation on Saturday 17th June 2018. This scheme provides an opportunity to have a significant impact on a young person's life while gaining valuable volunteering experience at the same time.
