Opportunities in Westbury on trym, Knowle, Longwell Green, Cadbury Heath, Bedminster, Henbury, Whitchurch, Brislington and Portishead
Join learning disability charity Brandon Trust, and discover a rewarding role where you’ll enable individuals with learning disabilities and autism to live a life freedom. You’ll support them in all aspects of daily life and help them to increase their independence.
Join us and you’ll have supportive colleagues and mentors around you. If you’re experienced we provide plenty of career development opportunities, whilst if you’re new to health and social care, we provide lots of training (including the nationally recognised Care Certificate) and support to enable you gain further professional qualifications. We also offer casual ‘bank’ contracts, and provide a range of flexible benefits.
About the role
We support people who live in their own homes and in registered care and nursing homes. You’ll support people at home with everyday tasks, for example cooking, cleaning, managing finances and medication. Many people require support with their personal care and mobility. You’ll also support people to access their community to do the things they enjoy; for example shopping, going out for meals, doing sport or jobs, whatever they want to do!
You’ll need to be compassionate and able to adapt your approach to individual needs. Good communication skills and a positive, friendly outlook are a must, as is patience. You’ll need to be flexible with shift and weekend work as most roles include a 24/7 rota. It’s also highly desirable (or in some cases, essential) that you have a full driving licence.
