Alive is the UK’s leading charity enriching the lives of older people and training their carers. Our art workshops encourage older people to engage with new creative skills and have fun, and our Access All Ages intergenerational sessions connect residents with local school children in their community allowing them to meet regularly and take part in creative activities chosen by them; these can include visual arts, green craft and making, reminiscence and life story work using iPads.
We’re looking for an inspiring individual to lead art and Access All Ages sessions in the Bristol area, North Somerset, South Gloucestershire and BANES. This is an opportunity to do something which really benefits vulnerable older people and to work as part of a friendly and supportive team.
You must have your own art practice, experience of teaching or facilitating in schools and/or leading art workshops in the community, and be able to easily connect with others. You will need access to a car, and be happy and able to travel around Bristol, B&NES, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire on a regular basis to deliver sessions. You must be available at least two days a week during term times.
This is a self-employed role. The rate of pay is £42 per session plus mileage. The fee includes all preparation, setting up and down and travel time. Full training and mentoring will be provided by our expert team.
Please see the job description and person specification for details.
To apply, please complete the application form, making a compelling case for why you would make an outstanding Alive art workshop presenter. Tell us how your experience, skills and personal attributes meet the requirements of the person specification.
Please email your application to email@example.com by 12pm Monday 8th January. Please do not send CVs. Interviews will be held on 15th and 16th January AM. Following this interview, successful candidates will be asked to attend and co-present part of an art session on 23rd Jan.
