We are looking for an Employment Coordinator to work across the Bristol area, on our Supported Internships programme. We have built on the success of our award-winning Supported Internship Study Programme and developed this into a national model: “Interns and Outcomes”.
This programme offers people with a learning disability, aged 16 to 24 years old, the opportunity to get practical work-based learning experience which will provide a smooth transition from education to paid employment.
As a Co-ordinator you will have a small caseload of people with a learning disability yourself, and also oversee the caseload of “Facilitators”, ensuring that the people we support progress, by increasing their work skills, to enable them to maintain paid jobs. You will engage with employers to agree placements for people with a learning disability. In work support will be provided in the form of one to one job coaching, as well as out of work support accessing the community, travel training, creating CV’s, learning new skills, behaviour management, team work, improving their functional skills - English and maths - as well as helping them to access other support agencies. Some small group work will be required.
You will need the ability to work on your own initiative. Good interpersonal, problem solving and communication skills as well as the ability to work effectively with clients, employers, and other professionals is essential. The ability to maintain accurate and up to date records using IT based systems is also required. Ideally, you will have employer engagement and marketing experience - as an important aspect of the role is creating work opportunities for the people we support.
A full UK drivers licence and access to a Car is essential.
