Details of Role: 

St Mungo’s Rough Sleeper Service in Bristol provides a rapid assessment service to assess potential rough sleepers either on the streets, or presenting at specific drop-ins.  In partnership with night shelters, day centres, local authority and other partners, they carry out comprehensive new rough sleeper client assessments; facilitating the rapid reconnection of new rough sleepers to supported networks in their home area or where they have a proven link.

As an Assessment & Reconnection Worker, your focus will be on carrying out comprehensive new rough sleeper client assessments and quickly helping them to be housed or reconnected.  You will also provide each client with personalised case management support and turn their assessment into a practical action plan that fully involves them.

Ideally, you will have experience of working with vulnerable people or an understanding of the needs of street homeless people.  However, what’s more important is your systematic, yet at the same time, flexible approach and ability to work collaboratively with others.  Strong communication, influencing and reasoning skills are also key, as is a flair for solving problems. Other qualities include knowing how to network and build effective relationships with people at every level.

Flexibility is required, as you will be working a rota, including working early mornings, late nights and weekends as required.  You will also have a full driving licence.
