Flamingo Chicks is a ballet school where disabled children can dance alongside their friends.
We’re looking for dance helpers who can assist some of our children with additional needs to participate. Training and on-going support provided.
· Tuesday 10th April until Tuesday 22nd May 2018 (7 week course)
· Bradbury Hall, Waterford Rd, Henleaze, Bristol BS9 (on a good bus route from town!)
The role of a dance helper is to help the children to have fun, engage and participate in the class. You don't need to be an experienced dancer, we welcome all volunteers that are passionate about supporting others and want to get involved.
About Flamingo Chicks
Flamingo Chicks (www.flamingochicks.co.uk) is an inclusive community giving children with disabilities and illnesses such as cancer the opportunity to enjoy ballet alongside their friends. While the children explore movement and develop key skills, parents and carers benefit from a vital peer-to-peer support network.
As well as growing rapidly within the UK, Flamingo Chicks delivers workshops and outreach programmes internationally, challenging the perception of disability in countries where those with additional needs face significant cultural barriers.
