We are looking for volunteer * Delivery Driver * to come and join our team.
At Aid Box Community's ‘Free Shop’ in Bristol, we make a difference to the daily lives of refugees and asylum seekers by providing free essential living items, along with a safe and welcoming space. In addition to this, we offer a delivery service to some of our service users for transporting items which they can’t manage to take away themselves.
This volunteer role provides an opportunity for you to help us to:
When?
4 ½ hours per week:
Thursdays 10.45 – 3.15pm
*6 Months Commitment necessary*
What’s involved?
Collecting items from donors homes at times
Loading and delivering aid to service users which they couldn’t take away themselves
Tip runs when necessary
Completing risk assessments
Delivering surplus aid to other charities who we support in Bristol
At times when there are no deliveries you would assist in the warehouse:
Checking the quality of aid donations and sorting them as they arrive at the ABC hub
Distributing items to the relevant place
Maintaining area as a safe and usable space
We’d like you to:

Practical Considerations:
We will:
Provide full induction training before you commence the role
Provide training in: Safeguarding, Asylum in the UK, Trauma Awareness, Cultural Awareness
Requirements:
Full driving license and own transport essential
2 references required
Drivers will need to be DBS checked at a cost of £15. This will be carried out soon after your induction.
