Trainee Administration/ Front of House Assistant

£7.38 - £8.21 depending on experience

Details of Role: 

Overall aim of the post:

To provide assistance to the Centre Manager and Business Manager; support with reception, administration, and promotion.


Essential tasks:


Reception duties:

  • Covering the Filwood Community Centre office while the Centre Manager and Business Manager are out, ensuring:
  • Visitors to the building are met and greeted
  • Customer enquiries by phone or in person are handled professionally and courteously
  • Room checking and showing visitors around
  • Working with the Centre Manager and Caretaker to assist in manual tasks such as setting up         rooms for events.


Administration duties:

  • Updating booking records
  • Collecting and recording information on feedback and attendance figures
  • Filing, copying, laminating etc.


Promotional duties:

  • Communication with Centre users via newsletter, email-out and Friends of Filwood.
  • Working with the Business Manager to update website, social media and marketing material         such as What’s On guide, flyers and posters
  • Using social media to seek and gain new business opportunities, such as posting about rooms available


Additional Duties:

  • Working as part of a team to ensure the success of Filwood Community Centre
  • Working as part of the team to support community events
  • Any other duties which can be legally and reasonably requested by the board of CiPKW


Qualifications / Personal Qualities:

  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Good organisation skills
  • Ability to plan own workload
  • Friendly, customer-focussed
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office / other IT packages as required
  • Experience using Social Media such as Facebook and Twitter
  • Ability to problem solve
  • Ability to use design software (desirable but not essential)
  • Willing to undertake training as required
  • Willing to learn skills in marketing, administration, data gathering.
