Wanted Not Wasted (WOW) C.I.C is looking to recruit management committee members who are interested in making a difference to the lives of vulnerable children in Weston Super Mare, and especially their mental health. We are particularly looking for people with expertise in fundraising or financial oversight and community liaison.
Wanted Not Wasted is a Community Interest Company that has operated successfully for over six years providing development challenges and life enriching activities to children on the Bournville Estate in Weston Super Mare. The Management Committee want to build capacity to increase WOW’s programme and secure its long term future. Management member’s recruitment is intended to contribute to this. There are at present four management committee members who have a broad range of experience including community development, working with vulnerable children and families, and in the mental health field.
All management members, working together, have a duty to direct the work of the organisation, but the specific skills this recruitment seeks to add are two volunteers; one with an interest in and knowledge of fund raising and financial oversight, and another to boost development of the organisation and create links within the community. Management Committee meetings are normally held four times a year and interim governance achieved by email. As a small local enterprise, Wanted Not Wasted needs its management members to spend some time helping to implement the decisions they make.
As an organisation we prioritise children’s safety, and all staff, volunteers and committee members are required to have an up to date DBS check which WOW pays for.
This is an unpaid post but reasonable expenses for Management Committee members such as travel, are reimbursed.
To express interest and find out more about the service or for an informal discussion please telephone Helen Roy on 07588512621 or email email@example.com.
Please respond by 31st March 2019.
