Freedom of Mind Director

Freedom of Mind CIC
Contract Type:
Part Time
4-8 per month
Details of Role:

We want Bristol to be a city which celebrates mental health and doesn’t shy away from it. To illustrate how any community, large or small, can confidently discuss and educate each other on mental health and emotional wellbeing. We should all feel empowered and supported to discuss our mental health with others.

Freedom of Mind are looking for someone to help lead the organisation over the next few years as a Director. Since we became a C.I.C. in 2016 we have grown hugely. From two people to a team of over twenty. From conversations to actions. From an idea to a reality.

As part of your role in Freedom of Mind, your responsibilities would include:

  • Monthly meetings with the whole team and committee.
  • Integration within the team with a specific role in an area of your choice
  • Supporting the team with developing the festival and other business ventures
  • Input into our strategic long-term planning
  • Promoting Freedom of Mind to a wide range of people

To successfully lead our organisation, we feel the right personal characteristics are crucial.

We take pride in having empathetic, driven people leading us who are confident in opening up the conversation about mental health and emotional wellbeing. We are a tight knit community of caring people who look out for the team as a whole, but can focus on independent work.

We all need to promote equality within our team and the wider community and know when to stand up and point out injustice.

Most importantly we are passionate about mental health and wellbeing, reducing stigma and educating others.

As a bonus we are specifically looking for people who have experience and confidence in any of the following areas:

  • Financial and/or business management
  • Teaching and education
  • Running workshops
  • Fundraising

Freedom of Mind C.I.C. wants to support all of its volunteers to achieve, whatever their position in the company. We make a big difference with very little, and working with us will provide an opportunity to see first hand this difference.

This is a voluntary position, however we can offer the following:

  • Support to pursue your own project and passion within Freedom of Mind
  • Professional development (on limited budget and resources) and management opportunities
  • Personal development - a chance to try something different, a group of friends and lots of fun!

Friday, 15 February, 2019 - 12:00
