Details of Role: 

The Southmead Project is a charity that provides counselling and group work to survivors of childhood abuse or trauma, some of whom have gone on to develop an addiction to drugs, alcohol or other self-harming behaviours as a result of that trauma. We are looking for an admin assistant to support the charity's work and its team of counsellors. 


Job Description

The work will include:

  • Answering phone calls
  • Ordering stationery
  • Filing and maintaining up-to-date client records
  • Shredding documents
  • Maintaining our internal database and data inputting 
  • Photocopying
  • Meeting and greeting clients
  • Responding to e-mails


Person Specification

  • To be a strong communicator with a positive manner, both verbally over the phone, in person and through written communication 
  • To be an organised individual and team player
  • Experience with handling confidential and sensitive information
  • Experience of working with vulnerable adults and being sensitive to their backgrounds
  • To be able to multi-task and prioritise your own workload 
  • Computer literate and able to use an internal database
  • To be able to use your initiative and undertake tasks that need doing
