Peer Mentors provide one-to-one and group support to people with multiple and complex needs in Bristol - this means working with adults who experience a challenging mix of homelessness, long term mental health problems, dependency on drugs/alcohol and offending behaviour.
Our Peer Mentors facilitate Golden Key clients’ integration in the community by engaging in recreational/leisure/educational activities with them.
As a Peer Mentor you could go with a client for coffees, to the gym, a lecture or the art gallery. You could accompany a client to a doctor appointment, a psychiatric assessment or a visit to a probation officer. You could also work with groups, facilitate a workshop, supervise a drop-in or lead an activity. We believe that peer mentoring is a mutually beneficial relationship that will offer you personal growth, new skills and increase your self-confidence. As a peer mentor you will provide support, inspiration and proof that change is possible.
