Every hour someone in the UK starts to lose their vision and, when they do, their world can become a lot smaller.  Something as simple as getting out and about can be really challenging.

The role of My Guide Volunteer is to act as a sighed guide for a person who is visually impaired, to help increase the mobility and independence.

You would meet on a regular basis and support them to access services in their local community, that they do not yet feel confident reaching alone.  This could be anything from a walk in the park, to visiting the shops in the local High Street.

We provide full training for all of our volunteers, so that you can be confident in your guiding role.  By giving a couple of hours a week, you can really open up someone else’s world.
