Do you enjoy working as part of a team, working in a customer facing role and speaking to new and interesting people? If so, this volunteering role could be perfect for you.

 

Why we need you?

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic person who is helpful and friendly and has good communication and organisational skills. You will actively promote and sell stock to customers and also assist with telephone and web orders. .

 

What will I be doing?

  • Actively sell and promote all stock to customers/residents
  • Process sales through the till
  • Assist  with deliveries
  • Learn about the products in the shop to aid sales and assist customers
  • Help with posting out goods.
  • Take phone and web orders
  • Clean shelves and display cabinets and keep shop tidy
  • Open and close the shop as required with shift times
  • Other duties as required

 What skills will I need?

  • Good customer service skills
  • Enjoy working in retail
  • Interested in the work of Penny Brohn UK
  • Be a good listener and be empathetic
  • Computer literate or willing to be trained
  • Reliable and trustworthy
  • Keen to learn new information and understand product information
  • Ability to work on own (once confident to do so)
  • Ability to use a till and credit card machine (training given)
  • Be confident, positive and a good communicator in person and on the phone

What training and support can I expect?

When you start volunteering with us, you’ll receive a full induction from the volunteer manager. Training will be given by the Shop Manager who will also provide ongoing support.
