Details of Role:

Supporting the delivery of our Victims of Crime Advocacy Service (VOCAS)  can be varied, engaging and most of all extremely valuable to local people who are at their most vulnerable.

As a chaperone you will attend essential confidential meetings with our clients and professional team members to support vulnerable adult victims of crime in your area. You will enable vulnerable victims of crime to have their voices heard and to work successfully with the criminal justice system, supporting SWAN to advocate on their behalf.

As an engagement volunteer you will accompany our team to promote our services to local community groups, outside agencies and at local community events, ensuring as many people hear about our free service as possible.

With ongoing experience through volunteering with VOCAS, you may progress to have the opportunity to conduct one-to-one client work with the full support of our professional team.  We can be flexible and will discuss this with you during an informal interview / chat after once we receive a completed application form.

All of our roles require an enhanced DBS check, 2 references, and a flexible trial period.
