Why we need you?

We are looking for someone who can manage a research project for our Trusts team.  We are planning an overhaul of our database and reviewing all our Trusts on the database to assign a prospect status which will be used for research.  The ideal candidate must be interested in database management and data entry.  Once the prospect status work has been completed there will also be an opportunity to start the research of these Trusts to move along the prospect pipeline. The work is relatively straightforward and repetitive.  You would gain a sense of achievement that you have directly helped our clients living with the impact of cancer through any grants that are awarded as a result of your approaches,


What will I be doing?

  • Data entry and data management on our Raisers Edge database.
  • Assigning prospect codes to all of our Trusts on the data base.
  • Researching the aims, objectives and timelines of Trusts and Foundations’ grant making criteria, using on-line and magazine resources.
  • Having phone conversations with Trust representatives to help develop warm relationships.


How much time do I need to commit?

A weekly commitment of 1 day is essential but days are flexible. We need someone who can commit to a minimum of 3 months; someone interested in an on-going role would be ideal.

  • Ability to use a computer effectively and learn new software as necessary
  • Good initiative and thorough approach to researching and writing
  • Excellent administrative skills and attention to detail
  • Enjoys researching, using the internet and other media
  • Diligent at record keeping
  • Proactive in asking for support when required

What training and support can I expect

This role will be managed by the Trusts Manager. Training will be provided on, research skills, Raisers Edge (database) training, and we shall provide a thorough induction to the Fundraising team and the Charity.
