Spike Island is recruiting a new Treasurer (voluntary role) to join the charity’s board of trustees. Our ideal candidate will be a financially trained professional with experience of applying strategic vision within a range of organisations, and will ideally also have experience of charity finance or board membership.
You will hold a passion for the social value of the arts, and be willing to volunteer your time and energy to the trustees and management team, including trustee meetings as well as finance sub-committee and audit planning meetings.
Spike Island supports and develops emerging artists and works to sustain and grow the visual arts ecology across Bristol and the south west. Spike Island is a public space where people can discover contemporary art, while supporting artists to create new innovative work. We are a community of over 70 artists, makers, arts organisations and creative businesses, located right in the heart of Bristol.
Spike Island has a committed board of trustees and a highly skilled and enthusiastic staff team. Our new Treasurer joins us at an exciting time following a transitional period which saw us welcome our new Director and Deputy Director, who are working closely with the trustees to lead the organisation forwards in to its next exciting phase.
Spike Island is a company limited by guarantee with charitable status.
We welcome applications from all sections of the community.
