Bank Support Worker Men's Safe House (North Somerset)

£9.73 per hour on a casual contract. Sleep-ins are paid at £93.96 per night.
Contract Type:
Casual contract, ad-hoc hours
Contract Details:
North Somerset
Details of Role:

Unseen is a fast moving, dynamic and growing organisation that works directly with survivors of trafficking and modern day slavery. We are looking to recruit Bank Support Workers for our Men’s Safe House in the North Somerset area to assist with the delivery of services, with a focus on engaging survivors, coordinating their support and helping them to access the services they need.

Bank Staff are employed on casual contracts and offered work on an ad-hoc basis with the potential for regular shift work. There is no obligation to take the shifts offered.  Bank workers who are consistently unavailable for shifts are naturally unlikely to be offered regular bank work.

Experience in a social care or residential setting with vulnerable people, preferably with clients with drug and alcohol issues and/or of working with victims of human trafficking are essential, although individuals who can evidence transferrable skills and knowledge will be considered at our discretion.

We run 24/7 safe supported accommodation for victims who have experienced trafficking and exploitation and may have health/social/emotional/physical/trauma based support needs. On-going training and supervision is provided. There is a 6 month probation period for this role.  You will be expected to assist the team to help deliver objectives that are set out in survivors’ individual support plans, conduct daily health & safety checks, attend appointments with survivors, hold daily house meetings and assist with any other duties/tasks within the project.

This is a casual contract, meaning that the post holder should be available for shifts at short notice on occasion, although every effort will be made to offer shifts in advance where possible. Shifts can be during the day (between 8am to 4.30pm), evening (1pm to 9pm) or sleep-in night shifts (8.30pm to 8.30am).

Deadline for applications is 26th August 2019 at 5pm.

Interviews to be held week commencing 2nd September 2019.

If successful, it is anticipated that you will be potentially offered work as soon as shifts become available (subject to satisfactory references, DBS check and completion of induction).
