Details of Role:

Imayla has worked to support young people, families and communities in inner-city Bristol for the past 18 years - by providing outdoor, creative and environmental activities within an intercultural setting. Beneficial in its own right our work also has broader outcomes - tackling inequalities and supporting improvements in areas such as health, mental health, education, employment and environmental access.

What we are looking for?

A social enterprise based in East Central Bristol that punches well above its weight, we are looking for Directors who can support Imayla CIC’s work in various areas including best practice, finance, legal, marketing and communications.

As some longstanding Board members have recently stepped down, we are looking to recruit new Directors.

The Imayla Board meets quarterly with our work further supported by task based and advisory groups. We hope Director appointments will be able to offer no less than a year and the organisation would benefit from longer term commitment.

The successful candidates will join a well-established Board of Directors with a broad range of skills and expertise.

The aim of the director’s role is to:

  • Support Imayla to achieve the vision, aims and objectives
  • Act as an ambassador for the organisation
  • Use specific knowledge, skills and experience to support operational delivery and strategic decision making
  • Participate in quarterly Board meetings and support specific activity for the organisation between meetings

We can offer you the opportunity to:

  • Be part of Imayla CIC at an exciting point in its development
  • Use and develop your skills to make significant positive changes to children, young people and families living in challenging circumstances
  • Be part of a dedicated  passionate and sociable team making all this happen
