Youth Moves is a youth work charity who have been working in South Bristol for the last 15 years and have a good local and national reputation for the quality of our delivery. Following an internal promotion of the existing post-holder we have a full-time vacancy for the right candidate to join our team of dedicated youth workers working towards our aim of providing outstanding youth work services to young people from across South Bristol, and particularly those young people who need our support the most. This post in particular will require 1-1 work with females and young women and delivery of targeted Girls' Work programmes, alongside other targeted programmes, and our community youth club provision.
We are looking for experienced Youth Workers to enhance and develop this targeted youth work offer to young people.
The job will involve:
You will be engaging with hard to reach, targeted young people (specifically girls and young women) and supporting them to learn new skills, behaviours, resilience and about making positive choices about their futures. Futher promoting emotional, psycholigical and social wellbeing identifying each individuals personal barriers and supporting them to find potential solutions whilst building confidence, self-esteem and self-efficacy.
Initially this contract will run until 31st May 2021 as part of the commissioned Targeted Youth Services provision from Bristol City Council and is part of our partnership with Creative Youth Network as the Lead Provider for this contract. The initial contract covered a 3-year period to end of May 2021 with the built-in option of a 2 year extension to end of May 2023 depending on meeting targets and further funding being avaliable from Bristol City Council. We should know soon if the coucil will take up this 2-year extension offer and we are confident this will be the case.
The post will be based with the rest of our core team at The Park Centre in Knowle, but working across South Bristol.
